Established in 2013 and brought to life by by Ian & Heidi Locket, Surf Side California is serving up some genre bending fare that pushes the envelope on taco creativity. They are bold and creative, filled with ingredients not normally found in a taco.
Surf Side California is a southwest coast inspired mobile food truck. We serve Kelowna and the entire Okanagan Valley some of the best Fish and Shrimp Tacos, Burrito’s, Warm Chips, Fresh Salsa’s, Cinnamon Churros and refreshing Horchata’s plus a variety of other delicious foods and southwest coast flavours.
Surf Side California was inspired in what Ian describes as “a bit of a love story.” Ian and his partner Heidi originally connected in the Okanagan Valley through their mutual passion for food, travel, culture and each other.
Food Truck Culture is something we always talked about and wanted to be a part of. We would spend our date time sampling restaurants and food vendors in BC, California and Vegas.
For the past few years the plan was to build and operate our own mobile food truck. We eventually saved enough money for the mobile food truck and Surf Side California was born. Finally we could bring the flavours we found down south on our travels to Kelowna and the entire Okanagan Valley!
Surf Side California opened to the public on May 5th 2013 with great reviews… We can finally say we are a part of it!”
